FLOWERS MAGZINE JANUARY 2012

Message of the Holy Quran & Hadith of the Holy Prophet Pbuh

Holy Quran

They say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” Say, “You have an appointment of a day, which you will be unable to postpone for a moment, nor bring forward.” (Surah Saba: 29-30)
Those who reject the advent of Judgment day (Qiyamah) ask, “When will this promise [of Judgment day (Qiyamah)] be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” These people intend to say that, since Judgment day (Qiyamah) has not yet occurred, a date has to be set for it, and, if no one is aware of the date, it means that it will never occur. Such reasoning is both foolish and childish.
Allah replies to them saying, “Say, ‘You have an appointment of a day, which you will be unable to postpone for a moment, nor bring forward.” The fact that Judgment day (Qiyamah) has not yet arrived does not mean that it will not take place.

Hadith of the Holy Prophet Pbuh

Abu Hurairah (radhiasllahu unh) said: The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, "The most disgraceful man near Allah is a man who calls himself (or likes others to call him) Malikul-Amlak (i.e., king of kings).''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Allah appreciates humility and humbleness and abhors pride and haughtiness. To arrogate to oneself the title of `The king of kings' reflects pride and not humility and is, therefore, forbidden. Moreover, this is an exclusive attribute of Allah and it is unjust to associate it with any one else.

Camera

Camera….photography…all those things which save our memorable events of life. Birthdays, school life etc… But let me tell you that behind the invention of photography many people worked there. Between 11th and 16th centuries, man had the “camera obscura”. It enabled him to show an image on paper which could be traced by hands to give drawings. In 1568, Daniell Barbaro fitted the camera obscura with a lens and a changeable opening to sharpen the image. In 1802 Thomas Wedgewood and Sir Humphrey Davy  recorded the silhouettes on coated paper( by contact printing). In 1816. Joseph Niepce made a photographic camera from a jewel box and microscopic lens. In 1835 William Talbot received the credit to make permanent images i.e positive to negatives. In 1839 Louis Daguerre told a daguerreptype process which recorded the image on silver plate.More and more advancements were made to camera and in 1888 a box camera developed by Eastman Dry Plate and Film company using Kodak system, was kept in general use. Thhe box camera was known to be the first stage of photography!

Poetry

How can you stay polite and nice?
How can you stay polite and nice?
When the people around you challenge and fight.
When the anger in you reaches the height.
When the tolerance you have leaves your sight.
Your friends consider your patience as fright.
When the anger of revenge is standing upright.
When you want to kill yourself or the one who fights.
But you know that losing temper is not right.
When all the people you love degrade you alike.
When you consider your life as a cut off kite.
And yourself as helpless as a boat on a tide.
Or a dry leaf on a stormy night.
The life seems as dark as night.
OH! God how to stay polite and nice.
